Where and when is this happening?   Throughout the entire school year, weekly classes take place in neighborhoods like yours on-site at schools, libraries and community centers between 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm.

Why?  According to The National Commission on Excellence in Education, about 13% of American 17 year olds are functionally illiterate.  Among poor and minority youth, that illiteracy rate runs as high as 40%.  We give students personalized instruction and ways to strengthen their literacy in a relaxed, thought-provoking and nurturing environment.

What are the outcomes? Students analyze, interpret, create and communicate written and spoken words.  They also grow from these experiences and become fluent readers, expressive writers, articulate speakers, team players and creative thinkers.

Our Voice2Youth poets and artists after school program culminates with a citywide youth poetry slam for 3rd through 12th grade students and publishing of a youth anthology.  Contact us at (817) 306-4441 to get this program started at your location, today.

Our Goals are to:

  • reinforce daily  school lessons
  • give students time for creativity and reflection
  • promote team skills and healthy-competition
  • cultivate self-determination, compassion and confidence in students
