Teaching Power of Poetry

This workshop aligns with new state guidelines regarding the subject of poetry.  First, it delivers strategies that educators can use to integrate the subject of poetry into a variety of curriculum areas.  Second, it enables educator to become more knowledgeable and skillful in using the art of poetry to engage students in reading, metaphoric thinking and voiced writing.

Outcome: Educators will improve their content knowledge and skills regarding the subject of poetry through participation in this professional development workshop.

Time frame: This is a 3 to 4 hour workshop

Minimum and maximum number of participants: 8-16 participants

Skill level: This workshop would be useful to educators at all levels of skills.
